2 Women Riding Scooter Killed In Crash On Florida Avenue
Two women were killed Saturday when the scooter they were riding on was struck by a pickup truck.
TAMPA, FL -- Two women were killed Saturday when the scooter they were riding on was struck by a pickup truck.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Valentina Llanos, 17, of Coral Springs was operating a scooter on Garland Court at about 4:30 p.m. with Natalia Luna, 19, of Tampa riding on the back. Llanos turned left onto Florida Avenue in front of a pickup truck driven by Peter Collum Taafee II, 46 of Spring Hill.
The scooter collided with the truck, ejecting both women from the scooter. Llanos died at the scene. Luna was taken to an area hospital where she died.
