20-Year-Old Charged With 2nd-Degree Murder Following Shooting
A 20-year-old Hillsborough County man is facing murder charges after being accused of fatally shooting a person Sunday morning.

TAMPA, FL — A 20-year-old Hillsborough County man is facing murder charges after being accused of fatally shooting a person Sunday morning.
On March 7, shortly after 7 a.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received a call reporting a shooting in the 4000 block of Broad Street West in Tampa. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a person with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The person was taken to the hospital and later died. The sheriff's office has not said whether the victim was a man or woman.
Detectives learned that Ledsuy Sanchez Sanchez, and the victim, who knew one another, were involved in a verbal altercation before the shooting. Detectives said Sanchez Sanchez attempted to tamper with and conceal the gun and other evidence from the scene.

"Our team of detectives was quickly able to identify and take into custody this suspect, who knowingly and wrongfully chose to end another person's life," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "While we will never be able to rewrite this story, I hope the family and friends of the victim find some solace that this suspect will remain behind bars where he is being held on no bond for the murder of this victim. "
Sanchez Sanchez has been charged with second-degree murder with a firearm, attempted second-degree murder with a firearm and two counts of tampering with evidence.
