2018 Election Results: Hillsborough County Races
In Hillsborough County, voters chose state senators, state representatives, county commissioners and school board members.
TAMPA, FL -- They may be getting most of the ink but the races for Florida governor and U.S. Senate aren't the only game in town.
In Hillsborough County, voters chose U.S. representatives, state senators, state representatives, county commissioners, school board members, a sheriff, circuit and county court judges and a Soil and Water Conservation District member.
Additionally, Temple Terrace residents were asked to choose new city council members.

Also on the ballot were two referendums asking Hillsborough County residents to dig deeper into their pockets.
One was to approve a 1-cent sales tax for countywide transportation improvements. The other was to approve a half-cent sales tax for air-conditioning and other capital improvements at Hillsborough County public schools. Both passed.

With all 390 precincts reporting, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections released the unofficial results.
However, no winner has been declared in the State Senate District 18 race between Republican Dana Young and Democrat Janet Cruz. With just a 289-vote lead by Cruz, the votes in the race will be recounted.
