Advisory Issued For Fecal Pollution At Davis Islands Beach
The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County advises against swimming at Davis Islands Beach.

DAVIS ISLANDS, FL â The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County has issued a public health advisory for Davis Islands Beach due to high bacteria levels that may be a risk to the public. Swimming is not recommended.
Samples taken were above the threshold for enterococci bacteria that indicates fecal pollution, which may come from stormwater runoff, pets and wildlife, and human sewage. It may cause human disease, infections or rashes.
The beach will be re-sampled in a week. When re-sampling indicates that the water is within the satisfactory range, the advisory will be lifted.
