During Taste of Design, teams of eight non-chefs will gather at Caspers Food Service Design to compete.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Bay Foundation for Architecture and Design will host an event that allows guests to experience first-hand the challenges and joys of food design.
During Taste of Design, teams of eight non-chefs will gather at Caspers Food Service Design, a state-of-the-art cooking facility at 6845 Maple Lane, Tampa, on Aug. 22 at 3 p.m. to compete in a hands-on culinary experience.
Each team will be led by some of the most decorated and beloved chefs in Tampa Bay—Chef Greg Baker, owner of The Refinery; Chef Joe Dodd, owner of King of the Coop; Chef Max Sherard, owner of Nosh Catering; and Chef Jeff Conley, senior resident chef at Publix Aprons Cooking School.

Using the cutting-edge appliances at Caspers, these teams will prepare the tasting menu designed by their lead chefs. A sommelier will offer wine pairings for each dish and an open tasting will begin at 5:30 p.m where the public can taste each team’s creations and vote on their favorite.
The winning team will be announced at the close of the event and one team will be selected as the 2019 Taste of Design Champions. This event is sponsored by Breakthrough Beverage Group and US Foods.
