TAMPA, FL — A national chain known for its hand-battered, freshly cooked chicken fingers is opening its first Tampa restaurant, according to multiple reports.
Raising Cane's is demolishing a former Sunnyside medical marijuana dispensary at 1902 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. to build a new drive-thru restaurant, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
The company is spending about $1.75 million to build a 2,794-square-foot restaurant about a third of the size of the former Sunnyside building, Tampa Bay Business & Wealth said.
The chain has 33 locations in Florida, including three in the greater Tampa Bay area - Clearwater, Lutz and St. Petersburg.
