Arson Suspected In Sulphur Springs Grocery Store Fire
Tampa Fire Rescue officials suspect arson in an early-morning fire at a locally owned meat market in Sulphur Springs Tuesday morning.

SULPHUR SPRINGS, FL — Tampa Fire Rescue officials suspect arson in an early-morning fire at a locally owned meat market in Sulphur Springs Tuesday morning.
Tampa Fire Rescue were called to the fire at the Discount Food Meat Market at 1302 E. Waters Ave. at 3:50 a.m. and found heavy smoke and fire coming through the roof of the single-story market.
The incident commander called for a second alarm to ensure enough staff and equipment was available to prevent the fire from spreading.

After making sure there was no one inside the market, firefighters got the fire under control by 4:05 a.m.
Evidence at the scene indicated that the fire was intentionally started by someone who fled the scene. Damage to the building and its contents is estimated at $115,000. There were no injuries.

Anyone with information about the fire is encouraged to contact the Fire Marshal's Office at 813-274-7000 or use the anonymous tips page. A reward of up to $2,500 or more is available to anyone who provides information leading to the identification of those involved.
