Back To School: Here Are Some Events To Help Students Get Ready

TAMPA, FL -- With the new school year just a week away, organizations are offering events to help students get ready.

School Supplies Giveaway

Bethesda Tabernacle and Outside The Walls Missions will host a back-to-school supplies giveaway Sunday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4477 W. Gandy Blvd., Tampa. Preregister here.

MacDill School Resource Fair

MacDill Air Force Base will host a school resource and information fair for military members, retirees, Department of Defense civilians and dependent family members Saturday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at at MacDill AFB Hanger 1.

There will be 25 base and community program representatives on hand to answer questions, a bicycle rodeo, bouncy castles, art activities, child safety fingerprinting and IDs, games and food. The 6 Medical Group will schedule school physicals and immunizations. Free school supplies will be available while supplies last.

19th Annual Giveaway

Children With a Vision will host its 19th annual back-to-school giveaway and health fair Sunday, Aug. 5 from noon to 6 p.m. at Ragan Park Community Center, 1200 E. Lake Ave., Tampa. Click here for information.
