Bertram Yacht has a history that dates back to 1960 when founder Dick Bertram built the 31-foot fiberglass Moppie. The company was purchased in 2015 by a group spearheaded by Beniamino Gavio. The Tampa headquarters will include offices, a production space, tool storage, parts sales and other operations. It will be located at the site of the former Lazzara yacht-building facility off South West Shore Boulevard, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

“We are honored to have one of our nation’s most iconic brands in the boating industry call Tampa home,” Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn said. “Bertram recognizes what people around the world are realizing – that this city is on the rise.”

Just how soon the new facility will be open for business is unclear. To find out more about Bertram Yachts or to keep up with job openings as they become available, visit the company’s website.
