This Florida has no shortage of places to grab a breakfast sandwich, but one favorite has been singled out in a new national ranking.
The Daily Meal named Marlene’s Original Breakfast Sandwiches in Tampa the best breakfast sandwich spot in Florida, highlighting its #5 The Special in a list of the best breakfast sandwiches in every state.
The list said breakfast sandwiches remain one of the country’s favorite morning meals, with shops across the United States putting their own spin on the basic combination of meat, cheese, eggs and bread. The Daily Meal said its picks included coffee shops, diners, bakeries, brunch restaurants and other local favorites.

The Daily Meal described the Marlene’s Original Breakfast Sandwiches selection on the list as “loved by locals and praised on the internet.”
The sandwich has smoked kielbasa, Gouda cheese, chives, cilantro, and spicy mayonnaise.

“Plus, it's served on Cuban bread, making it a true Tampa treat,” The Daily Meal said.
The full list includes breakfast sandwiches ranging from buttermilk biscuit sandwiches in the South to bagel sandwiches in the Northeast, along with croissant, focaccia, pita, waffle and English muffin versions.
