Build a Gingerbread House to Help the Red Cross

Two events have been set this year – one in Tampa and the other in St. Pete Beach.

The Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross wants to help folks deck their halls. In that spirit, it’s announced two upcoming gingerbread house fundraisers.

The gingerbread house fundraisers enable supporters to make and take their own unique designs while enjoying food, auctions, shopping and more. Alessi Bakery is providing the gingerbread houses at both events, along with plenty of icing, decorations and candy for participants to make their own one-of-a-kind creations. Both events will also feature judging with prizes on the line.

The first fundraiser is set for Dec. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Tampa’s Fletcher Lounge at Plant Hall, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd. This event features brunch by Sodexo, shopping with local vendors, prizes and more. The 14th annual celebration is sponsored by the University of Tampa and Bay News 9.

The second event is set for Dec. 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Loews Don CeSar Beach Resort at 3400 Gulf Blvd. on St. Pete Beach. This is the 20th year the Red Cross has hosted this event at the Don CeSar. This celebration features brunch courtesy of the resort, celebrity judges, a live auction and more. It is sponsored by Clearwater Gas, Duke Energy and The Lightning Foundation.
