·Pageant and “Watermelon Royalty” Presence – A charming, tradition-rich kiddo showcase.
·Local Vendors and Food Experiences – A colorful mix of food trucks, artisans, and small businesses bringing the best of the region with a watermelon theme.
·Family Activities and Kids Zones – An epic kid’s zone, petting zoo and animal interactions.
At its heart, the Brooksville Watermelon Festival is about bringing people together — families, local businesses, farmers, and visitors — to celebrate Florida’s agricultural roots. Batten Family Farms, a multi-generational Brooksville farm is providing the festival with their heirloom award winning watermelons.
Batten Family Farms was founded in Brooksville, Florida, in the late 1800s with a small family of farmers. Now Batten family has grown and cultivated land for generations, growing high-quality melons and hay, while raising cattle to support our family and others'. Each generation has passed down knowledge and traditions that honor our heritage. They are dedicated to sustainable farming practices and a deep respect for the land and also thankful for support of the community that has kept them going and believe in giving back by providing fresh produce and fostering connections between consumers and farmers.
“We look forward to this year’s fun-filled watermelon inspired event for the entire family. Come support the local vendors and enjoy the activities,” said event organizer Michele Northrup (Saucy Queen).
