Champa Chicken, New Casual Eatery Opens Near USF
Champa Chicken makes juicy, flavorful chicken made fresh to order.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay Food Tours visited Champa Chicken to check out this new family-friendly spot.
Locally owned Champa Chicken is located in a strip mall at 2311 E Fowler Ave. The restaurant is no frills but delivers solid, tasty food at reasonable prices. Takeout is very popular with USF students and those who work close by. They also feature delivery through Door Dash or Uber Eats.

With two grandchildren in tow, sights are quickly set on the chicken tender baskets. I have joked for years that I should have a blog called Whine and Dine. The site would feature these kids' reviews of chicken nuggets, tenders and french fries over the last seven years. So, we had some well-qualified tender snobs to rate the meal. I am happy to report the tenders were large, juicy and perfectly crispy. All appointed 5 stars and a thumbs up to the french fries as well.

The fresh rotisserie chicken is available in half or whole chicken meals in rosemary, spicy or lemon garlic flavors.
We really enjoyed Champa's original lemon garlic chicken grilled in charcoal-lava stone grill over yellow Mediterranean basmati rice and served with garlic sauce and a side of creamy house-made coleslaw. The rice was aromatic and nicely seasoned with vibrant spices, turmeric and saffron.

Nothing fancy here which is perfect. Carefully prepared food, with generous-sized portions priced reasonably is a good recipe.
