Chef-Driven Counter Culture Restaurant Opens In Bayshore Plaza

TAMPA, FL — Chef Jeannie Pierola announced Thursday that her newest concept, Counter Culture, is now open, offering regular nightly dinner service from 5 to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Located at 2909 W. Bay to Bay, Suite 100, in Bayshore Plaza, the 3,700-square-foot restaurant features a modern minimalist interior designed by Sandra Chancey of Chancey Design with Italian terrazzo tiles to unify the space and set the color scheme.

The open kitchen with a 14-foot wood-fired grill and stainless hood is lined with comfortable kitchen counter dining.

Counter Culture also features a mixologist bar with garage doors that open onto the patio to create an indoor-outdoor bar that will also serve the full kitchen menu.

Counter Culture is Pierola’s modern homage to classic counter dining and its bar stool kinship between diners and the kitchen.

“We fell in love with this Bay to Bay location because of the way the Bayshore views flow into the space," said Pierola, a five times James Beard semifinalist known for her use of fine components and fresh flavor combinations to create memorable modern cuisine.

She's been at the helm of her award-winning brand edison: food+drink lab, 912 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, for the past seven years and, in 2018, launched swigamajig-edison's divebar and fishkitchen at Sparkman Wharf, 615 Channelside Drive, Tampa.

Her company, Chef Driven Restaurant Group focuses on creating and developing restaurant, bar and menu concepts that are chef driven by design.
