Chiefland HS Varsity Baseball begins the 2020 season

Chiefland HS Varsity Baseball begins the 2020 season after making it to the 1A State Finals in 2019 losing 4-3 in a hard fought finals game.

Chiefland Varsity Baseball Head Coach Chad Brock begins his first season with the program after four years with Cross City High School. Coach Brock played high school ball at Chiefland and was a former assistant with the high school team. He was a player and assistant coach under Coach Parnell who retired from coaching in 2019 after 20 years.

Coach Brock stated the support at States was terrific. He saw the same turnout and support at Cross City and sees solid support from the community at all area schools.

The 2020 team brings a lot of energy to games and see them competing in 2020 with a newer group of student athletes. Early in the season the focus is on defense and fundamentals. Pitching is ahead of hitting as the players go from the batting cage to live pitching.

Pre season games have allowed the team to "Shake Off The Rust" ahead on next week's Opening Game of the regular season. Coach Brock has a solid group of assistant coaches consisting of: Brent Slaughter, Avery Baker, Dale Scone and Chad Hodges.
