Chilly Week on the Way

Temperatures aren't expected to dip into the freezing range, but sweaters might be in order.

It’s probably time to dust off those light jackets once again.

The National Weather Service is calling for a fairly chilly week throughout the Tampa Bay area as winter makes its approach. Monday’s isolated sprinkles and high in the low 70s will give way to a week of highs in the 60s and lows that could drop to about 45 degrees during the overnight hours Tuesday and Wednesday.

While mostly sunny skies are expected throughout most of the week, forecasters say the secondary cold front that’s expected to move across the region Tuesday could make for some hazardous boating conditions on Bay area waters. Winds are expected to be in the 20 knot range Tuesday and into Wednesday, creating precarious conditions for those in small crafts.
