Coast Bike Share Announces Launch Dates

Folks who love the idea of biking to get around South Tampa will soon be able to hop on Coast Bike Share rentals to get where they want to go.

The bicycle renting operation launches for founding members Nov. 17. All others get to enjoy the service starting Dec. 7. The service works by providing rental bicycles to users at hubs that are located throughout downtown, Channelside, Ybor and Hyde Park. Members or single-day users just have to reserve a bicycle to ride. Reservations will be available via a smartphone app, the company’s website and at rental stands. Once a reservation is made, users get a PIN number they can use to unlock their bike.

The cost for rentals for non-members is $5 an hour. Membership starts at $30 a month, but an annual membership is available for $70 yearly. Founding member pricing is $99 a year.
