Community Pharmacist Performs to Show Support for Her Patients

Tampa resident and community pharmacist, Nikki Patel is thrilled to perform in this year’s American Lung Association Lip Sync for Lungs Live Battle V on May 27 at ZooTampa at Lowry Park. This unique, action-packed event features five local celebrities, in a wildly entertaining setting that raises funds to provide lung health programs in Florida and lung disease research.

“These past two years trying diligently to meet the needs of our patients has been a challenge for everyone. Finally, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and my pharmacy community team is excited to celebrate! Lip Sync for Lungs will give me and my colleagues a chance to shake off the past two years and have some fun” exclaims Patel.

Patel and her colleagues realize the importance of their role in the community and the seriousness that is required of their profession. “Your health is not something to joke about. We work hard to not treat our patients like a number. We do our best to know our patients by name and assure they are well taken care of. Community pharmacists have so much to offer – health screenings, health and wellness guidance, and vaccines. When it comes to lung health, we help treat recovering COVID 19 patients, patients with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), and others who suffer from asthma as well as others with seasonal allergies and every ache and ailment,” remarks Patel.

As Patel looks ahead to the Lip Sync for Lungs, she encourages all to “celebrate just being together, in-person. Everyone should join us for a little escape from those everyday stressors and be entertained while at the same time gain a little more knowledge about lung health and all that the American Lung Association has to offer Tampa Bay residents,” shares Patel.
