Cops: Joyride Causes $10,000 Damage to Tampa Golf Course

The incident happened Sunday night.

A Sunday night joy ride on the Rocky Point Golf Course left behind an estimated $10,000 in damage while sparking a hunt for the person responsible.

According to the Tampa Police Department, the incident unfolded around 9:30 p.m. at the 4151 Dana Shores Drive course. Someone brought a 2002 Ford pickup truck onto the course’s greens and started doing donuts, causing “extensive damage to the turf.” At some point, the driver lost control of the truck and it overturned.

Witnesses to the act said that two people got out of the truck and fled on foot.
