Cops: Serial Burglar Busted in the Act
A surveillance operation was under way when the crime is said to have occurred.
Bad timing for an accused burglar turned out to be good timing for local police.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were in the Swann Avenue area early Friday morning conducting surveillance. As they were working their operation, officers noticed a man break into the Swann Avenue Market, 1021 W. Swann Ave., and attempt to take off with the store’s cash register.
The man, police say, didn’t get very far.

He’s been arrested in connection with that commercial burglary and is now a suspect in more than 60 others that have taken place across Tampa Bay over the past six month, the agency wrote in an email to media.
Antonio E. Wright, 30, is being held in the case. He had not yet been booked into the Hillsborough County Jail Friday morning.

It is currently unclear how many burglary charges he might face.
