Hospitals and funeral homes are bringing in additional cold storage units and refrigerated trailers as the coronavirus claims more lives.

FLORIDA — It's been a tragic week for Florida families as the number of coronavirus cases continues to rise and, along with it, the death toll.

Hospitals throughout Florida have halted elective surgeries as beds fill with seriously ill coronavirus patients. Meanwhile, Florida hospitals and funeral homes are reporting that bodies are piling up, forcing them to bring in additional cold storage units and refrigerated trailers for the dead.

Among those who died are a Manatee County sheriff's deputy, a St. Petersburg police officer and two school teachers.
