The Dan At The Floridan Offers New Orleans Dishes With Gulf Flair
Calling all cool cats to the once-oldest and now the newest hot spot in downtown Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — In its continuing pursuit of the finest food in Tampa, Tampa Bay Food Tours headed to downtown's historic Floridan Hotel to try the city's newest restaurant, The Dan.
The Roaring '20s gave many Americans an unprecedented taste of freedom and unbridled fun. The Dan captures that spirit. It has a speakeasy theme but with all the elegance of a 5th Avenue hotel with gilding, crystals chandeliers and hand-painted walls and ceilings in the remodeled Sapphire Room.
Mix in some live jazz and curated cocktails, and you've captured the essence of The Dan.

For the grand opening, Executive Chef Will Artley, named one of the best chefs in Northern Virginia, treated us to classy cocktails and a New Orleans, Gulf-style menu.

Who's going to say no to a champagne cocktail with champagne, cognac, bitters and a cotton candy flourish? The Dan also features cocktails such as the Bourbon Street Blues, featuring bourbon, amaro and Carpano Antica.
The Floridan at 905 N Florida Ave., first opened in 1927 and was among Tampa’s first skyscrapers. It was built in the Beaux Arts architectural style, a classical Roman and Greek movement that originated in Paris, with Renaissance Revival details and a decorative edge hiding its flat roof. The Floridan was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
