TAMPA, FL — A driver accused of driving under the influence drove over and killed a man sleeping outside a Tampa Carrabba’s Italian Grill Tuesday night, according to multiple reports.
Angela Molina, 30, lost control of his car while making a lane change on North Dale Mabry Highway around 9:30 p.m., Bay News 9 reported. He was speeding when he drove off the road and hit a power pole before running over a man sleeping near the restaurant parking lot and hitting the building in the 700 block.
The Tampa man removed an alcoholic drink from his car before police arrived, witnesses said, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Though he refused a breathalyzer test, a medical test showed his blood alcohol level was 0.187.
