Concertgoers can expect to hear the classics such as “Your Song,” ″Tiny Dancer,” ″Rocket Man,” ″Candle In the Wind” and “I’m Still Standing.”And the show likely won’t be understated. According to The Associated Press, Elton John, donning a Gucci blazer covered in pink flowers and green stems, sang confidently and electrified a Philadelphia crowd for three hours in September. And, of course, his signature piano moved from one end of the stage to the other.
He has also paired many of his songs with new videos.
This being the 21st century and all, you might have to deal with folks who choose to record every moment with their cellphone. Also expect air-pianists and numerous amateur shower-singers.
Also don’t be surprised if Elton John cracks a joke. After thanking Philadelphia fans for buying his albums, he joked that if someone had asked him 10 years ago whether he’d be doing a farewell tour, he’d have said, “You put acid in my drink.”
But, alas, even “The Rocket Man” has to know when it it’s time to fall back to Earth. He said he wants to spend more time with his family.
“I have the most beautiful family and I really need to spend more time with them. I know you understand since a lot of you have children of your own. I just want to be there for them and that’s why I’m doing this tour. It’s to say thank you and say goodbye to touring,” he said, according to Rolling Stone.
