Experienced builder joins J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. as operations VP

Bringing with him more than three decades of contracting experience, Alan C. Miller recently joined the staff of the Venice-based construction company, J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. (JECharlotte.com) as the firm’s new vice president of operations.

In his new role, Miller will manage all J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. projects and assist with pre-construction planning, allowing company President and CEO Jeff Charlotte to concentrate on business development.

Miller and Charlotte first met while studying together at the University of Florida. After graduating in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in building construction, Miller worked on a number of multimillion-dollar projects around the U.S., including sites in California, New Jersey and Texas.

Prior to joining J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp., Miller was instrumental in plotting growth and management strategy at a general contracting firm in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and he has worked on a number of major projects in the Sunshine State. He is a state-certified general contractor and holds LEED AP credentials.

“Alan and I always kept in touch after college, and I’m so happy he’s decided to join our firm,” says Charlotte. “His wide range of experience gives him excellent insight into client needs, and his many years on the job have made him an expert in managing costs and schedules.”

Miller’s first challenge will be overseeing the construction of the new Bayside Pet Resort in Osprey, a project J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. broke ground on last week. The $2.9 million facility will be a full-service resort for cats and dogs with lodging and grooming space, plus climate-controlled play rooms and outdoor play areas.
