Mom Charged With Child Cruelty For Dressing Son As Girl
The woman and a friend of hers were charged for an act they said was meant as punishment.
When a 10-year-old Winter Garden boy wet his pants, his mother and a friend decided dressing him up as a girl, complete with makeup, would serve as a good punishment.
Thatâs according to police in the Orlando suburb who found themselves arresting the mom and her buddy after a photo of the incident surfaced on Facebook, WPTV reported.
Those photos were brought to the attention of police in late November, but the pair wasnât arrested until late last week, Click Orlando reported.

It seems the photos showed the boy dressed up, crying. The mom told police she and her roommate hatched the punishment plan because her son frequently wets and soils himself, the station reported.

Police, however, say the boy has a medical condition thatâs been documented.
The boy was dressed as a girl for only two minutes, long enough for the photos to be snapped, the mother contended, The Ledger reported.
No matter how long it was, Winter Garden Police said the act adds up to cruelty toward a child and infliction of physical and mental injury. Both the mom, Christle Prado, 34, and the friend, Keith Driscoll, 26, were charged in the case and were booked into the Orange County Jail.
The boy and his siblings have since been turned over to a family member for care, Click Orlando reported. The Florida Department of Children and Families has investigated the mom in the past and is now doing so again.
