Better Weather On the Way for Tampa Bay

Conditions are anticipated to improve as the week continues.

As parts of the country prepare for the possible arrival of Tropical Storm Joaquin, the Tampa Bay area can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

The flood watch that had been issued for the entire region has been canceled earlier than expected. The low pressure system that was feared to bring the potential heavy storms had more or less cleared the area by 11 a.m. Tuesday.

With that low pressure system out of the picture, the National Weather Service says the region is in for a fairly normal week in weather all in all. Tuesday will still bring a 60 percent chance of storms during the daytime hours followed by a 20 percent chance overnight. The high should reach the upper 80s with a low in the upper 70s.
