Florida Releases Redesigned Tampa Bay Bucs Specialty Plate

The state offers more than 100 specialty plates for sports fans, conservationists, veterans and plates in support of nonprofits.

TAMPA, FL — Avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans are invited to be among the first to display the redesigned Buccaneers specialty plate on their vehicles.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are announced that the redesigned specialty plate for the Super Bowl-winning champs is now available at all tax collector offices and license plate agencies across the state.

The original Tampa Bay Buccaneers specialty license plate was approved during the 1994 legislative session. As of July 1, there were 47,621 valid registrations of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers specialty license plate. This is the plate’s third redesign.

Floridians interested in purchasing the newly designed Tampa Bay Buccaneers specialty plate, or one of the many specialty license plates offered in Florida, are encouraged to visit their local tax collector or license plate agency. The cost is $15 annually.

Funds raised from the sales of specialty license plates are distributed by the department to specialty license plate sponsoring organizations and are considered state financial assistance.

The specialty license plate brochure includes more than 100 plates for every Florida college and university, environmental and conservation plates including "Save the Manatee," "Protect the Panther" and "Protect Our Oceans," plates for each branch of the military plus "Support Our Troops" and "Salute Veterans" plates, sports-related plates like Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Lightning, Orlando Magic, Miami Dolphins, NASCAR and Special Olympics, remembrance specialty plates for the Challenger explosion and fallen officers, and plates supporting a host of charitable causes including Gold Star Families, autism, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Moffitt Cancer Center and Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches. There's even a Walt Disney World plate for Disney fans.
