Florida's First People

Come to the Jan Platt Library on Wednesday, May 4 at 6:30pm to learn how Florida's first people lived.

People arrived in Florida more than 12,000 years ago and flourished on the peninsula’s bounty of natural resources. Join a docent from the Tampa Bay History Center and learn how they lived, the prehistoric animals they shared the land with, and what the climate was like back then. By the 16th century, the course of history changed drastically with the arrival of Spanish conquistadores, who brought utter destruction to Florida’s First People and their thriving cultures.

Presented in Partnership with the Tampa Bay History Center.
