Fog, Cooler Temperatures Creep Back into Forecast

Rain chances also rise as the weekend nears.

While Tampa Bay’s forecast for the next few days would no doubt make a northerner jealous, there are a few pain points folks might want to keep an eye out for.

The National Weather Service anticipates patchy fog will move back into the Bay area Thursday night and into Friday morning, causing some issues with visibility on local roads. Some locally dense pockets of fog are possible and motorists are urged to use caution and low beams as they navigate through trouble spots.

Once that fog clears out, rain chances creep into the picture. As of Thursday afternoon, forecasters were calling for a 20 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m. Friday with the potential persisting into the evening hours. Windy conditions are also likely with gusts up to 18 mph anticipated.

Temperatures on Friday are also expected to drop from the 80s we’ve enjoyed over the past few days. A high only in the lower 70s is anticipated Friday.

The weekend looks like it will bring a mixed bag with a mostly sunny, but potentially windy, Saturday on tap. Rain chances return Sunday at 20 percent. Highs over the weekend will reach the mid- to upper 70s.
