Doctor Killed, 1 Person Injured In Tampa Boat Crash: Reports
A Tampa doctor was killed and another person was injured after their boat crashed near Picnic island Park, reports said.
TAMPA, FL — A Tampa doctor was killed, and another person was injured after the boat they were on crashed into a rock jetty near Picnic Island Park on Saturday morning, multiple reports said.
The 27-foot boat crashed into the jetty near the park at 7404 Picnic Island Blvd. around 7 a.m., the Tampa Bay Times said.
The force from the crash threw both people on board into the water, WFLA reported.

One person aboard the boat swam to shore after the crash and was treated at a local hospital, WTSP said.
The body of urologist Dr. David A. Hochberg, 61, who was on the boat, was pulled from the water, reports said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hochberg was a founding partner of Florida Urology Partners, based in Tampa, and the chief of urology at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
