Gasparilla Arrest Statistics Released

TAMPA, FL — Saturday’s Gasparilla Parade of Pirates came and went without any major incidents, Tampa Police report.

Even so, with rowdy pirates and thousands of spectators all present for Gasparilla’s 2016 run, a few arrests were made. The police department released the numbers Monday morning.

Here’s a look at the charges filed during Gasparilla 2016:

Felony Arrests

• 1 battery on a law enforcement officer
• 1 aggravated battery/active warrant

Misdemeanor Charges

• 4 possession of marijuana
• 3 boating under the influence
• 3 disorderly conduct
• 3 resist arrest without violence
• 2 trespass after warning
• 1 battery
• 1 open container/striking a police horse
• 1 open container
• 1 petit theft
• 1 possession of a synthetic drug
• 3 adult underage drinking
• 1 open container citation
