Goodwill Manasota Partners with Girl Scouts for Goodwill Week

Superhero Recognition, Super Sales, & a Giving Challenge

Goodwill Manasota and the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida are pleased to announce the “I’ve Got the Power” campaign, which is a collaboration that encourages local Girl Scouts to make a difference and create positive changes in our communities.

This partnership, which will launch during Goodwill Week on May 4, will encourage local Girl Scouts to organize donation drives to help Goodwill further its mission, which is placing people in jobs thus creating a stronger and healthier community.  In return, Girl Scouts will earn an “I’ve Got the Power” badge in addition to learning lessons about environmental responsibility and social consciousness.

  • Goodwill is participating in The 24-hour Giving Challenge; an event hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County on May 6-7 from Noon to Noon.  Supporters can tune into the Goodwill Facebook page during the challenge to see ambassadors in their capes!  Visit GivingPartnerChallenge.org to make a donation.
  • On the retail front, rewards will be offered for donations dropped off at any Goodwill location between May 4-10. Bring your donation receipt into any of our retail locations for a $5 discount of your $20 or more purchase.  This offer is valid until May 11.

Goodwill Week is celebrated every year during the first full week of May.  Goodwill agencies around the United States celebrate the power of work.  It is also a way to thank donors, shoppers and supporters that have made positive contributions that help carry out our mission.  Goodwill uses the proceeds from the sale of donated goods to fund training and employment programs to help individuals get back to work.
