Halfacre Construction Completes Cassariano Expansion in Venice

Halfacre Construction Company recently completed a major expansion and build out at the popular Italian eatery, Cassariano in Venice.

The building that Cassariano Italian Eatery now sits in, a former clothing store on Venice Avenue, was built in the 1920’s, according to the restaurant owners. Aside from minor renovations in the 1980’s, the building has remained fairly untouched.

Luca Cassani and Antonio Pariano, founders of Cassariano, which is a combination of their last names, purchased the new building after the previous lease ran out on May 31st, 2013 and Halfacre Construction started working on the renovations three days later.

“We were in our last location, which was a few doors down, for seven years. We were at a point where we had stopped growing, because we had run out of space. We went from 62 seats to over 150 seats; that is a huge advantage for us. The main reason we moved was to please our customers, and everyone seems to be satisfied since we reopened,” said Cassani.

The new space is 3,376 square feet which encompasses the restaurant and the addition. The architect for the project was BEEBE Design Studio Architects in Venice, Florida.

“This was a very challenging job, as we added a 720 square foot balcony to accommodate covered outside dining and many other updates to the building to bring it up to code,” said Todd Segal, Halfacre Construction Project Manager.

“Halfacre was a great company to work with. They were very good at adapting to changes that arose, they stuck to our budget, and the project was finished two weeks before we expected it to be completed. That was a big deal for us, because we were able to start out in our new restaurant sooner than expected,” said Cassani.

The new Cassariano Italian Eatery is now located at 313 West Venice Avenue.

As the area's oldest, most established, locally-owned and operated private commercial construction company, Halfacre’s foundational strengths stand as evidence that its commercial and industrial construction projects will be delivered on time, within budget, with the utmost integrity and with the expertise and financial strength needed for success.
