Hear Tampa Bay's Ghost Stories Live

The Tampa Theatre is playing host to the region's expert on local ghost stories.

Bay area residents who love a spooky tale are in for a treat when author Deborah Frethem makes an appearance at the Tampa Theatre in time for Halloween.

Frethem plans to share ghost and other supernatural stories from her latest book release, “Haunted Ybor City,” Thursday.

Frethem has dedicated herself to collecting the Tampa Bay area’s spookiest tales. She has also penned “Ghost Stories of St. Petersburg” and “Haunted Tampa: Spirits of the Bay.”

During Thursday’s appearance, she’s expected to share some of the stories she collected over the years. She’ll also sign copies of all of her books with proceeds benefiting the historic theater’s restoration efforts.

The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Tickets for the live presentation are $10 for general admission and $8 for members of the Tampa Theatre. They can be purchased online or at the 711 N. Franklin St. box office.
