Digital Porn Images Created By Hillsborough Man, Sheriff Says

The man, 18, was accused of taking original photos of the victims, where they are dressed, and removing the clothes in altered images.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A man was arrested Monday after being accused of creating digital pornographic images of multiple people, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Authorities said they received on March 13 reports from three people claiming they found computer-generated nude images of themselves online.

The images had been formed from original social media photos of the victims, who were clothed in the initial photos, authorities said. In the altered photos, the victims' clothing had been removed, authorities said.

Sammarth Gautam, 18, was arrested Monday by Lakeland Police in connection with the incident and is awaiting extradition, authorities said. Gautam was charged on suspicion of 16 counts of promotion of an altered sexual depiction without consent, authorities said.

"I am proud of our investigators who were able to get this man off our streets and justice for the victims whose privacy was disgustingly violated," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a news release.
