Horror writers support SPCA Tampa Bay during Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month
Meet local authors at a spooky Halloween adoption event on Oct. 30
WHAT: Start your Halloween weekend early as SPCA Tampa Bay hosts local Horror Writers Association (HWA) authors for a meet and greet on Oct. 30. Fans of fright and thrills will have a chance to not only meet authors from their favorite genre, but also help the pets at SPCA Tampa Bay find homes during a special adoption event.
During the event, visitors are encouraged to take “selfies” with SPCA’s adoptable dogs in a Halloween prop booth and the photos will then be posted to SPCA Tampa Bay’s Facebook Page and on the HWA’s website, www.horrorselfies.com. SPCA Tampa Bay will waive the adoption fees for adopters who bring a printed copy of the selfie featuring one of the adoptable dogs.
Submit your own selfie for a chance to win prizes from HWA and SPCA Tampa Bay. Anyone can submit a selfie to www.horrorselfies.com. During October, selfie submissions on HorrorSelfies.com following the themes of pets in costume, pets “reading” horror, or pets with “I love horror” signs can be entered to win prizes from the HWA. In addition, SPCA Tampa Bay will award prizes for those who attend the event and submit a selfie using #SPCATampaBay.
