Hurricane Irma Aftermath: Latest Central Florida County-By-County Power Outages

About 10 percent of Florida's homes and businesses were experiencing a power outage​ as of Saturday morning, down from 18 percent Friday.

TAMPA, FL — Nine of every 10 Florida homes and businesses is able to turn on lights and TVs, now five days removed from Hurricane Irma's heavy rain and winds.

Utilities reported that about 1.1 million accounts across the state were without power at 6 a.m. Saturday — about 10 percent of the state, according to the latest figures from floridadisaster.org. That's down from about 1.8 million accounts Friday morning.

Hillsborough County: 2 percent remain without power (down from 5).

  • Three of Duke Energy's 25 customers (12 percent) were without power as of Saturday morning, down from 25 percent Friday morning.
  • For TECO Energy, 13,602 of its 631,780 customers (2 percent) had no power as of Friday morning, down from 5 percent Friday morning.
  • Nearly all cooperative customers had power as of Saturday morning.

Polk County: 8 percent remain without power, down from 13 percent.

  • Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative said 20 of its 569 customers had no power as of Saturday morning (4 percent), way down from 94 percent Friday morning.
  • Lakeland Electric said 8,641 customers (7 percent) had no power as of Saturday morning, down from 8 percent Friday morning.
  • Duke Energy said 9,278 of its 100,519 customers (9 percent) were experiencing a power outage as of Saturday morning, down from 18 percent Friday morning.
  • TECO Energy reported that 4,930 of its customers (6 percent) had no power as of Saturday morning, down from 9 percent Friday morning.

Pinellas County: 4 percent remain without power, way down from 21 percent Friday morning.

  • Duke Energy said 21,637 of its 540,933 customers (4 percent ) had no power as of Saturday morning, down from 21 percent Friday morning.
  • TECO reported that 19 of its 10,984 customers (0 percent) were without power as of Saturday morning, down from from 2 percent Friday morning.

Pasco County: 3 percent remain without power, down from 13percent Friday morning.

  • Duke Energy said 5,600 of its 139,992 customers (4 percent) had no power as of Saturday morning, down from 20 percent Friday morning.
  • Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative reported that 2,159 of its 106,230 customers (2 percent) were without power as of Saturday morning, down from 5 percent Friday morning.
  • TECO reported that 742 of its 23,836 customers (3 percent) were without power as of Saturday morning, down from 8 percent Friday morning.

Hernando County: 4 percent remain without power, down form 7 percent Friday morning.

  • Duke Energy said 1,161 of its 11,341 (10 percent) had no power as of Saturday morning, way down from 20 percent Friday morning.
  • Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative said 1,934 of its 83,412 customers (2 percent) were without power as of Saturday morning, down from 4 percent Friday morning.

Manatee County: 12 percent remain without power, down from 17 percent Friday morning.

  • Florida Power & Light said 25,920 of its 184,900 customers (14 percent) had no power as of Saturday morning, down from 19 percent Friday morning.

Sarasota County: 23 percent remain without power, down from 25 percent Thursday afternoon.

  • Florida Power & Light said 45,550 of its 263,800 customers (17 percent) had no power as of Saturday morning, down from 23 percent Friday morning.

TECO maintains that essentially all of its customers will have service by Monday, though it might take longer to restore service to some customers.

Florida Power & Light estimated that it will restore power to essentially all of its customers along Florida's east coast by Monday. FPL said it expects to restore power by Sept. 22 for its west coast customers.
