I-275 West Shore Boulevard Ramp Construction Begins Thursday

Work is expected to take several months.

Motorists who use the southbound Interstate 275 exit ramp onto West Shore Boulevard are going to need to get accustomed to a new route starting Thursday morning.

The Florida Department of Transportation has announced the exit ramp (Exit 40A) will close down sometime between midnight and 5:30 a.m. Thursday for reconstruction. The closing is expected to last until May.

The signed detour route will take motorists to Exit 41A/B to Lois Avenue/Cypress Street, the department noted in an email to media. Motorists will need to turn right at the bottom of that ramp and go west on Cypress Street to get to West Shore Boulevard.
