ICYMI: New Service Brings Publix Groceries to the Door

Shipt kicks off in the Tampa Bay area Aug. 4.

Tampa Bay area residents with no time to stand in lines at Publix will soon be able to have their groceries delivered to the door.

Shipt, a grocery delivery service that currently serves such markets as Dallas and Nashville, has announced it’s going live in the Bay Aug. 4. The service will cater exclusively to Publix customers, offering same-day delivery on orders.

Shipt customers can use an Android or Apple app to order, pay and schedule deliveries. The cost of the service is normally $99 a year, plus a small fee for each delivery. There is a $35 minimum order requirement. Bay area residents, however, who sign up for the service’s beta testing can enjoy a year of coverage for $49 for a limited time.
