Inmate Found Dead In Cell At Falkenburg Road Jail

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation into the death of an inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail.

Around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Vincentito Otero, 50, was discovered unresponsive on the floor of his single-person cell by detention deputies during a routine check. Jail medical staff and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded, but were unable to revive Otero.

A cause of death is pending the results of an examination by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office.

Otero was arrested Dec. 28 for resisting an officer without Violence, possession of a controlled substance and battery.
