Is Plant Museum One of Florida's Favorite Buildings?

The Henry B. Plant Museum and other Tampa landmarks are in the running in an online poll that recognizes the state's top architecture.

Well, you can vote for it in an online poll that recognizes Florida's favorite architecture.

The Plant Museum, originally built in 1891 as a hotel and re-purposed in 1933, is one of eight Tampa-area landmarks featured in the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects' poll of the state's top 100 buildings. The organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and April is Florida Architecture Month.

Other Tampa buildings featured in the poll are the Florida Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), Rivergate Tower, Tampa Bay History Center, Tampa International Airport, Tampa Theatre and the Cuban Club in Ybor City.

Voting closes at midnight April 6, and you can vote daily. The winner will be announced later this month.
