J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. wraps up improvements to George Mullen Activity Center

J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. (JECharlotte.com), a Venice-based construction company that provides a full range of services, is wrapping up site improvements at George Mullen Activity Center for the City of North Port.

Currently in phase two of the project, with an estimated $255,000 budget, J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. has installed additional storm drainage piping and inlets, added new concrete sidewalks at the activity center and on City Hall Boulevard and planted Palm trees along the sidewalk from George Mullen Activity Center to City Hall Boulevard. The construction team also graded around the football field and the activity center as well as added new streetlights to City Hall Boulevard along with electrical power pedestals for future events.

J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. completed phase one of the site improvements to George Mullen Activity Center in April 2014 in under a month. The second phase, which began in May 2015, will finish up before September 2015.

During construction, J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. is working around the occupied children’s recreational facility and the football field, which is used daily.

The 12,500-square-foot community center opened in 1998 and is named after former Commissioner George D. Mullen. The facility includes a gymnasium with multipurpose flooring and a stage, fitness center, meeting rooms and a commercial kitchen. Just behind the facility are two football fields. In 2013, a playground and sand volleyball court were also added to the property.
