Joan Jett Joins The Who's 50th Anniversary Tour

She'll join the band for its Tampa stop.

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts have signed on to help The Who celebrate 50 years of rocking.

The newest inclusion on the 50th Anniversary Tour was announced Thursday. That tour’s North American spring leg kicks off April 15 at Tampa’s Amalie Arena.

Tickets for the show are currently on sale. The music gets under way at 7:30 p.m. on tax day.

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts intend to appear at a number of the 50th anniversary shows in North America, a media release from the arena stated. That group has been named a 2015 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“Having Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, a great American rock band, support us on our North American dates will ensure concert-goers a full night of entertainment. I love her,” The Who’s Roger Daltrey was quoted in a media release as saying.

“We’ve been very close friends with Joan Jett for a long time. She is the real deal. This will be a great night of rock and roll for everyone,” Pete Townshend added.

Tickets are now on sale at the McDonald’s Ticket Office at the arena and via Ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices start at $36.25.
