Lightning Celebrates Opening Of Cigar City Brewing Taproom

The Tampa Bay Lightning and fans celebrated the much-anticipated opening of The Cigar City Brewing Taproom at Amalie Arena.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Bay Lightning and fans celebrated the much-anticipated opening of The Cigar City Brewing Taproom at Amalie Arena before Tuesday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

Cigar City Brewing is the Official Craft Beer Partner of the Lightning and Amalie Arena. In addition to being on tap in the newly opened taproom, Cigar City beers Jai Alai, Guayabera and Florida Cracker are available for sale throughout Amalie Arena.

The taproom will also pour specialty and seasonal beers.

"We are excited to unveil the Cigar City Brewing Taproom," said Lightning Chief Executive Officer Steve Griggs. "Cigar City Brewing, its products and the new taproom fit perfectly into our food and
beverage vision, providing the best in brands and variety to our fans and guests at Amalie Arena.

The Cigar City Brewing Taproom is located at 375 Channelside Drive, under the Pam Iorio Parking Garage adjacent to the west plaza at Amalie Arena.

The taproom will be open on both event and select non-event days. Extending onto the plaza, the Cigar City Brewing Taproom will create an authentic Tampa setting, enhancing the pre and post-event experience for Amalie Arena concert-goers and Lightning fans.

"Cigar City Brewing is proud to be the Official Craft Beer Partner of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Amalie Arena," Cigar City Brewing Chief Operating Officer Justin Clark said. "We will work together to contribute to the Tampa Bay community and elevate the fan experience at Amalie Arena."

Additionally, the Hunahpu's Beer Festival, one of the premier craft beer events in the United States, will be moving to Amalie Arena on March 13. The festival will mark the 11th anniversary of the event in Tampa and the first at Amalie Arena. The festival is a one-day celebration of Cigar City Brewing's Hunahpu's Imperial Stout, which is only released once a year. Tickets are on sale now and more details on the Hunahpu's Beer Festival event at Amalie Arena can be found on Cigar City Brewing's website.

Cigar City Brewing, 3924 W. Spruce St., Tampa, began handcrafting award-winning beer in 2009.
