Man Beat 93-Year-Old Grandmother, Stole Her Car: Deputies
Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the Tampa man, who is believed to be driving the woman's Infinity.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking Tampa Bay area residents to keep their eyes open for a man its deputies say beat his 93-year-old grandmother and stole her car.
According to the agency, James William Mitchell Jr. attacked his grandmother at their home in the 7000 block of 52nd Avenue South sometime between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 6:56 a.m. Wednesday.
Mitchell, 54, beat his grandmother so badly, she suffered severe injuries, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

“Mitchell then left the victim on the ground in a semi-conscious state for an unknown amount of time and fled the area in the victim's 2001 beige, Infiniti QX4 sport utility vehicle, bearing Florida tag X89 9TT,” the email said.
A warrant has been issued for Mitchell’s arrest on an aggravated battery on a person age 65 or older charge and for grand theft auto, the sheriff’s office said.

His grandmother is recovering at a local hospital as the search for him continues.
Mitchell is described as standing about 5 feet, 10 inches in height and weighs about 165 pounds. He has a medium build and complexion, brown hair and brown eyes, the sheriff’s office said.
