Man Killed In Davis Islands Boat Crash Identified

TAMPA, FL -- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has identified the 22-year-old man who died following a boating accident near Davis Islands on Sunday, Aug. 5.

At 5:15 p.m., Tampa Police received a call regarding a single-vessel accident. According to a witness, the 15-foot Gheenoe boat struck a piling and the two people on board were thrown into the water.

The body of Keith Rohde of Lutz was found in the water. His passenger, Brittany Mundie, 22, of Tampa was rescued by Tampa Fire Rescue and taken to Tampa General Hospital. She is still listed in serious condition.
