Man Killed In Tampa Home Invasion, Shooters Still At Large: Police

Police said three men broke into a Seminole Heights home and demanded money from its occupant before fatally shooting him.

TAMPA, FL — A man was fatally shot inside a Seminole Heights home early Saturday, and at least three men are wanted in connection with the shooting remain at large, according to police.

Tampa police said officers were called to a home in the 8400 block of North Dexter Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they located a man in his late 20s inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers aided the man before he was taken to the hospital, where he died, police said.

Police said three men came into the home without permission and demanded money from the victim. They fired multiple shots before fleeing.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
