TAMPA, FL — A 19-year-old Tampa man faces charges after shooting at a vehicle in a road-rage incident, authorities said.

Shyquan Lee Galon was charged with battery and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors, as well as two felony counts of shooting at, within or into a vehicle, according to a Tampa Police Department news release.

Officers responded to the intersection of S. Morgan Street and Channelside Drive around 6:30 p.m. after multiple reports of shots fired following a two-vehicle crash.

Investigators learned that the crash was the result of a roadway altercation between the two parties — including Galon — involved, police said. The two also got into a physical fight.

When they each went back to their vehicles, Galon fired multiple shots at the victim’s occupied vehicle and then left the scene.

There were no injuries in the shooting, but one victim brought themself to a local hospital with minor non-life-threatening injuries caused by the fight, police said.

Officers contacted Galon at his home, where he was taken into custody. He was brought to Orient Road Jail.
