TAMPA, FL — Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, a fast-casual restaurant group founded in Brooklyn, New York, has opened its first Florida franchise in Tampa.
TBBQ Group LLC has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with Mighty Quinn's and has opened its first location at 202 N. Dale Mabry Highway. The new restaurant includes all the Mighty Quinn’s iconic menu items, a selection of bottled and craft beers on tap, indoor and outdoor seating, and the brand’s first drive-thru.
“As Mighty Quinn’s continues its national franchise expansion, we are thrilled to open in Tampa Bay with our first drive-thru location in what will be the first of many restaurants in Florida,” said Mighty Quinn’s Co-CEO Micha Magid. “Drive-thru lanes have become a valuable attribute to fast casual real estate and we are fortunate our franchisees were able to secure this premium location in the fast-growing Tampa market.”

Mighty Quinn's was the winner of the 2013 Zagat award for best new restaurant in New York. Its cuisine is the merging of two barbecue traditions: Texas and the Carolinas, using all-natural meats and poultry seasoned with spice blends and then wood-smoked for hours.
Specialties include brisket, the brontosaurus rib, spare ribs, a half chicken, wings, sausages and pulled pork, burnt ends and crispy chicken sandwiches.
The eatery also serves rice bowls, and pulled pork and bean or brisket empanadas.
Sides include burnt-end baked beans; sweet corn fritters; mac & cheese; roasted sweet potatoes with candied pecans; Brussel sprouts with soy vinaigrette; broccoli salad; slaw; jasmine rice; french fries; dirty fries covered in smothered burnt ends, chile-lime sauce, red onions and scallions; cornbread; and mac & cheese fritters.
Mighty Quinn’s was first introduced in 2011 when co-founder and Pitmaster Hugh Mangum offered smoked brisket and pulled pork from a mobile pit in Williamsburg (Brooklyn), New York.
The mobile offering regularly resulted in long lines that continued to grow until Mangum ran out of product. So, Mangum joined forces with his stepbrother, Micha Magid, and Micha’s brother-in-law and restauranteur, Christos Gourmos, to open the first brick-and-mortar Mighty Quinn’s restaurant in the East Village. Since the brand’s inception, the three partners have opened a mix of corporate-owned and franchised locations.
Hours for the new Tampa eatery are Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
